So far the new munchkin is doing well. Lots of the injuries are closing up and the areas that had looked infected look MUCH better. I've got him on Garlic to help with fleas since right now there's no way he could handle chemicals of any kind on his skin. We're bathing him daily in an oatmeal bath and though he surely doesn't like it, he tolerates it well. He's very well behaved and i feel certain that someone worked with him a great deal at some point in his life. He tells us when he needs to go potty, he lays down when told to do so. If the kids are eating he doesn't beg. He practically waits to be invited for just about everything.

On the other side, he's also been abused other than just not being fed and shot. If he thinks he's done something wrong, he will not make eye contact, he slinks through the house and we literally have to go to him and tell him it's okay before he will wag his tail again and come to anyone. He flinches the same way I used to when I was married to the jackass. Everytime he flinches like that I just want to go kick someone's ass.

My own dogs are spoiled brats. Minnie does what she wants and dares ya to tell her she can't. Diesel is the worlds worst about wanting to help people eat their dinner no matter how many times he's told not to. Sarge.......gawd.....he's just sort of like a monkey on crack. He's everywhere all at once. I'm not sure i ever REALLY understood the term " Bull in a China Shop" til Sarge started running. He's so bad that even in the house he has to be on a leash. He'd destroy everything otherwise. He's not even a year old though so we all understand and try to wait him out lol.

So this dog has manners i'd almost die for my own to have and he was still abused??? I just can't imagine what someone would do to my furbrats. Toni mentioned in a recent comment that anyone who'd hurt an animal would hurt people as well and you know......i believe that statement. People just suck sometimes, I swear they do.

So anyway, i'd post pics of the progress but at this point you'd all still cry the same way i want to every night when i have to be careful about where to pet him because he's got wounds everywhere and he's so sore. So i'm going to wait a bit til there's a little more significant improvement. At the vets office he weighed 35 pounds and should weigh close to double that amount. He's eating REALLY well so hopefully we can get some meat on his bones, literally. Sooooooooooo, now we just wait and hope that the meds are working and we can get him back to where he needs to be as soon as possible.
