Every Christmas one of my favorite things to do has been to try and help another family for the Holidays. It means a great deal to me to share what I can with someone who needs it. I usually can't do a lot but I do what I can.

The problem is that this used to be an easy process. Wal-mart always had a tree that would have paper angels on it and it would show you the age and gender of a child along with their wish list. You just chose the child you wished to help and delivered them to a central location to be handed out to the child at Christmas. Wal-mart around here hasn't been doing it for awhile now though. So the only way to do anything was to know a family who needed help or call local churches. For whatever reason i never even thought of calling the local Salvation Army. Duh Nessa!

Anyway, today I was assisting a customer on the phone who'd purchased something at JCPenny's and i happened to see a logo on the bottom of the page about the Salvation Army Angel tree. As soon as I got off the phone I went and checked it out and it is soooooo awesome!

JCPenny's is sponsoring it this year on their website. You simply go to Angel Giving Tree Online, click "Select Your Angel" and type in your zip code or any zip code you want really. You choose the age of the person you want to help as well as the gender and it gives you a list of the persons in that range that need a little Christmas cheer this year. There are even Senior Citizens in some areas.

Here in Redneck Hell as small a town as we are in I found several children listed so I know there must be many more in larger areas.

Pleeeeeeeeeease consider helping a child or a senior citizen this year. It's really easy and it doesn't have to cost you a lot to show someone love for the holidays. They'll never know you did it and you'll never get a thank you, but from experience I know that it's a wonderful feeling.

FAQ'S

Additionally if you are a family or know a family in need please go to the Salvation Army website to see how you can get assistance for the holidays.

I found this meme through some of the others that I've been doing lately and it looks like fun. Sooooo I'm adding it to my weekly "to-do" list. Join in too, you just might like it.

1. We need to mow the yard this weekend and get it ready for Ashley's bonfire birthday party.

2. Today I thought about a song Tyler used to sing to me when he was little and it made me smile.

3. If you want to achieve anything, you should get off your butt and do it rather than waiting for someone else to do so. I'm just sayin......

4. I'm almost in tears because someone gave Diesel some table scraps and he has gas.

5. Massachusetts has a proposed 5% sales tax on elective cosmetic surgery; I think i don't care because i don't live there lol, it is silly though i suppose.

6. Seeing the smiles on my kids and my family's faces makes for a happy holiday.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to, Diesel to running out of gas, tomorrow my plans include working and studying and then some yard work if it's not raining and Sunday, I want to go to the flea market and walk around early before all the irritating people get there who like to stand in my way and let their kids run wild!

1. If you won a brand new house in a Dream House Giveaway would you move into it, sell it to pay the taxes and make a profit, rent it out or give it to a family member/friend who might need it?

I would sell it and then buy 2 practical houses. Move into one and give the other to a needy family.

2. Are you good at billiards?

You're asking if I can hit balls with a stick?Ask my former boyfriends.

3. Does anyone on the planet really want to see Levi Johnston naked in Playgirl (other than when Bristol Palin did)?

I don't but I love that he's doing it and pissing Palin off. I can't believe she's actually a grown woman battling a snot nosed kid. Sure he's a nuisance but shouldn't at least one of them be an adult for that baby's sake?

4. Is your phone ringing right now?

No but give it 30 minutes and it'll be ringing off the hook. No I'm not psychic, I just log into work at 8

5. Do you think man has eaten or tried to eat every type of animal on the face of the earth at one point or another? If not, what don't you think man has tried?

Hmmmm, skunk for sure. I'm certain it's safe!

6. The new movie Avatar has been showing sneak peeks and been hyped to the max. Will you see it?

No, not til it comes out on DVD and the kids force me to do so.

7. If a slightly bigger fish eats a small fish, then a bigger fish immediately eats that one, then an even bigger fish immediately eats that fish and then finally a huge fish eats the one that just ate that fish and it gets caught by you... how many meals will you have from that one fish?

Holy crap, lets talk about how big my headache is just reading that question! I guess it depends on what constitutes a huge fish. I mean a Great White would certainly be more than one meal.

8. If you had an appointment with the doctor and all the plants in the office were dead, would you still see the doctor?

Yeah as long as the patients in the waiting room are still breathing I'm good.

9. Have you ever seen the number 666 in a dream?

Only when i dreamed about my stalker showing up at my house and she had it stamped on her forehead. I wasn't a bit surprised.

10. "At 20 years of age the will reigns, at 30 the wit, at 40 the judgment."~ Benjamin Franklin
So what happens at 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100?
50-wrinkles reign
60- sag rules dude!
70-remembering your name is the key to the day
80-oh who cares who you are, change my ass is clearly in charge
90 & 100- Just Waking up is a blessing and a curse

11. Would you want your phone number to be (area code) 123-4567?
No I want it to be 783-362-4824

I think I may have found one of the coolest things ever. Ok, well maybe not THAT cool but pretty great at least. I like free stuff a lot! I also like winning auctions. Now I can do both at one great place. Listia is a free auction site. It costs no money to use it, list on it or sell on it.

The way it works is you get credits for signing up and you get credits for selling items. You can arrange to pick items up locally or you can choose to have items shipped to you. You do have to pay for that part but the item itself is free except for the credits you bid on it.

I was looking around there this evening and found quite a few things that would make great Christmas gifts and since they're free, that makes them even better great Christmas presents lol. I'm actually surprised that I haven't heard of this place before. It really is a well thought out idea and the site is extremely easy to use and understand. Huge bonus there.

There's an option to donate credits from items you sell to charities. There's an option to buy credits if you need them quickly as well. You can earn credits by getting friends to sign up and you can get credits by linking your facebook and twitter accounts too. They've made it really easy to start enjoying this service.

I'm working on earning credits so I can try to win this for Ashley. It's just funky and different enough that she'd like it.
All in all Listia is a pretty neat way to clean out some of that stuff you just can't bear to throw away but don't want to bother listing on other auctions or free sites. Check it out and see what you think. You might find something you just can't live without.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank my stalker and the friends/relatives she is now sending to help stalk me. Your dedication to visiting me daily and your fascination with me is eventually going to allow me to quit my job and blog full time. I have you and your family and friends to thank for that when it happens.

See........every time you come to visit me. Every time you click on a link, Every time you show your sad little self here you help my blog statistics rise and you help make my blog an even more attractive place for advertisers. I received an offer this morning from another advertiser offering me $75 to blog about his website because you and your family have clicked the jewelry link at least 6 times lol. I won't get that $75 for another 30 days, but that's okay. I also got 2 other advertisers who'd like me to host giveaways and get free products to review due to all your hard work. My only request is that if you are going to continue visiting please click on more links. Or better yet, see that google search link up there? Click those often!! That would be GREAT!I know you have nothing better to do with your life than try to irritate me so come on. Really make something of yourself and click more links and read more posts. Is there anyone else you can send to help me out here? Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, or heck, even Mickey & Minnie, I know they have to know you on sight by now.

I don't mind at all, I really don't. I simply feel sorry for you and have for over a year now. My new boyfriend thinks it's hilarious and wonders if it's possible that you like me even more than he does. I'm thinking he mnight be right. So just keep coming and send more people. I can't wait to be rolling in the dough you and your people are going to make me. Early retirement through stalking..who'da thunk it?

Sincerely,

Nessa

We all know that Christmas is a time for families to gather and exchange presents, gossip about the members of the family that aren't there and generally just have a good time. What is often overlooked is how much fun families can have together. Why gossip when you could be playing things like Charades or card games like Spoons? Great game by the way!

I know when we get together at my Mom's house, it's a mad house. We have been blessed with a very large family and it's crazy around there on Christmas Eve, but it's fun. The kids are running around and playing. The older kids are trying to round up the smaller ones and the smaller ones are trying to sneak up to the goodie table. Like I said, It's fun but it almost always causes a huge headache before the night is over. It's chaos, plain and simple.

What I wish we'd do is ohhhh I don't know, maybe take some control back from the young ones and try to control just a little bit of the chaos. Not all, Just a bit. Like maybe play games or watch old family videos or even just sing Christmas Carols. I'm fairly certain the munchkins would never allow it though. They're just children and running around screaming as loud as possible seems to be what they do best. I suppose i'd take listening to them having a good time over them crying or fighting any day and luckily on Christmas Day, I can sit at home and play online bingo in peace.

Ohhhhhhh the Joys of Christmas!

This weeks Theme for the Queens Meme is : ~Do You Believe In Magic~

1. Tell us about your superstitions. Do you have any? Do you "x out" black cats on the windshield of your car, avoid cracks in the sidewalk or practice other rituals that make you feel safer?
Don't have any? Come on now! Make up some....

I don't really have any superstitions except for one. I won't lie about someone being sick if they aren't. Ya know how people call into work and say they're kid is sick or someone died so they can take a day off? Wellllllllll, I'm convinced that if I do this, it WILL happen.

2. Has anything paranormal ever happened to you that you can write about?

Two things actually. In our old house, we had a ghost. In general he was quiet but every now and then we'd piss him off and he'd slam doors. Nothing else, just slam doors. Other than that he seemed to be someone who looked out for us. Twice in about 6 years I was awakened by a really strange sound like a Zippo lighter being opened and closed. Both times there were things going on in the house that could have been dangerous. One was a pan of oil left on the stove with the oven on and it was smoking and the other was a heater sparking. I'm almost positive the ghost was that of a man who had died in our front yard in a fiery car wreck before we moved there. His daughter was Ashley's best friend. He never messed with us except the doors and the strange sound but he sure scared the crap out of the chihuahua the first month or so we lived there.

The other was recently when we went to "Ghost Road" Everyone but me saw the figure of a man walk across the road from about 50 yards away. They could see through him and he was the same color as the dirt road. It was weird because they all sort of gasped at the same time and turned much whiter than the ghost they described. Read about Ghost Road sometime, you'll see why I believe them.

3. Have you ever had a near-death experience?
Care to share?
Only that time I was given a triple dose of morphine at the hospital because 2 people didn't notate my chart. I didn't see any lights or anything, just remember the nurse slapping me trying to wake me up.

4. Pheromones...aka "love fireworks" (I think I remember those)...are a force to be reckoned with. Do you believe that two people can have an uncontrollable chemical reaction to each other? How do you know this to be true?

Oh yes it's true.........as for how I know, just take my word for it lol.

5. Do you believe that modern day witches can put spells on people?
If so, who would you like to hoodoo and why?

Do I believe? No, Do I wish I could if I were a Witch? Oh yeah. Who would I hoodoo? I'd hoodoo my stalker, only it would be for her own good though. I'd put a spell on her dumbass and the idiots she now sends here to stalk me. What would it do to them? The stalker would have an extraordinary urge to get a job and stop using her children as pawns to get her way as well as get over her fascination with me. The idiots would stop enabling her and encourage her to move on with her life just as I have. What she's doing isn't healthy for anyone. It's GREAT for my blog stats though lol

6. ESP! What do those letters stand for in your life?

EEEEKS, Stalkers!! Peeeeeeeeew!

7. Do you ever hear strange noises in your house?
If so, what do they sound like?

Only the Chihuahua snoring and the Rottweiler Farting.

8. Tell us about a time you "knew" something was going to happened before it did. Are you one of those intuitive types or do you know someone who is ? Do tell.

*I* don't think so but my daughter has recently been banning me from saying " you watch, this is what will happen" She swears it does happen after I say it.

9. I'm a tad gifted in the dream department. Really. Sometimes my dreams are prophetic and come true. It can be a blessing and a curse. Has this ever happened to you? If not, would you like to have this gift? (Be careful what you wish for. It can be freaky at times.)

Twice I've had dreams about things before they happened. The first was the night over 100 tornadoes hit Oklahoma. I was dreaming about my Grandma who lives there and ther were tornadoes all over the place as we were driving down the road to get to her house. The next morning my secretary informed me of the fact that Oklahoma had been inundated with tornadoes the same night.

The second was when I dreamed my son was having pain in his side and ended up needing an appendectomy. Later that day he called me from work telling me he was in pain and when he got home I went and ahead and took him into the ER. Sure enough, he was appendix free 12 hours later. I agree, it's creepy as hell and makes you wonder what dreams will be true and what won't.

Daniel, my 20 year old, is saving up to buy himself a vehicle. About 2 weeks ago I went to an Auction where they were auctioning farm equipment and other things such as cars and trucks. No Terri, I wasn't spending money, I was along for the ride. Anyway, It was rather neat actually in a sense that it proved that rednecks have alot more money than the rest of us. Seriously, they were bidding thousands of dollars on these bulldozers and other heavy equipment. Now they also had holes in their jeans and no sleeves on their shirts so maybe they were spending money they had saved on clothing.

Regardless, the cars/trucks, they were auctioning were going rather cheaply. A good decent truck went for around $600. It's obvious flaws were things like ripped seats, ugly dashboards, desperate need of a bath, ya know, things like that but the motors sounded good. Soooooo, Daniel has decided that he's going to take what's he's saved and see if he can get a vehicle at this auction. in the meantime I've been looking for ways to make the vehicle nicer for him when he has the money to spend to improve it. Turns out it's not that hard. he can get seats and such from junkyards that are in perfect condition and dash kits to improve it as well. I would have thought it would be harder really but it seems to be a fairly easy process to restore a vehicle or just add goodies to an already nice one.
