We've got a new addition to our family. She's about 7 pounds, 4 of those pounds being hair, big brown eyes and a very sweet disposition. I've tried all day to get a decent picture of her but she's just not cooperating so far. So here ya go. look real close lol.

She's a Yorkiepoo and she's adorable. Minnie pretty much hates her so far, but she hates anything she see's as competition for her Mommy's affection. Diesel, is so jealous of her he can hardly stand it. I walked her this morning and he was not at all happy that I paid attention to her, even momentarily. Sarge pretty much doesn't care one way or another. He's in his own little world as usual and not much gets to him.

She's housebroken, she's sweet and HOPEfully her and Minnie will become friends. She'd be good company for her if she'd give her a chance. Someone her own size to play with.

I named her Nikki Lee. The kids aren't all that happy about it lol, because she's named after Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee. They think it's a dumb name but I think it's cool and I buy the dog food so the name shall stick. She's goofy like Tommy and her hair sticks up like Nikki's.........I think it fits her!

Why?

The tragedy here in Texas yesterday at Fort Hood has many people shocked. I'm sure one of them. It makes no sense to me at all that someone who was supposedly a part of a peace loving religion would take it upon himself to massacre fellow soldiers. Where's the love in that? Where's the peace? What's the point? He was apparently against the war so he killed people?

I don't get it. I'm sure i'm not the only one who doesn't. There's no understanding such a horrible senseless act such as this.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen and wounded soldiers. May peace find your hearts.

I'm so glad this meme is still around. Some of the others I was involved in went away while I was gone. This one was one I looked forward to though every week so I'm happy it survived. Join it too!

1. Mad Cow disease, Bird Flu, Swine Flu...what barnyard animal will cause the next big outbreak of disease?

I'm predicting Sheep. It will be a very concentrated disease affecting only redneck men and their uhhhh... favorite parts. It will cause said part to fall off. There will be an upside for the community though if these men survive. Since the blood will no longer stay in their penis, more will stay in the brain and potentially cause them to be smarter or at least stop looking for women at family reunions.

2. Sesame Street turns 40 this month. If you were to be on Sesame Street, which character would you want to be in a scene with?

Cookie Monster!!! We have a lot in common.

3. We are out shopping for a new laptop. Which one do you pick and why?

The pretty one that matches my decor of course, duh!

4. Have you ever dried a flower in a book (pressing)? If so what was the flower and the name of the book?

Yes, it was a red rose and I saved it in my big family bible.

5. Do you think it's important to study other planets? If so, why or why not?

Sure, but I have to wonder why we can spend millions to do so and there are still starving children in America.

6. Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theater? What was the movie, how much was the ticket and why did you walk out?

I've never walked out but I almost did from Transformers 2. The theatre had the volume so loud i had to hold my ears because it was painful. Lots of people were doing the same. I filed a complaint with the manager the next day and supposedly they are sending free tickets as a "we're sorry", but they have yet to arrive.

7. Does the city/town you live in have traffic enforcement cameras? Have you ever gotten a citation/ticket/fine from one? If so, did you pay or fight it?

We have them but i'm not convinced they really work. I think they're just there to make you THINK you could be caught OR the rednecks who run the city government don't know how to hook them up.

8. If your neighbor is having a baby would you buy a baby gift for them?
No, I found out the other day that she molested her own special needs child......I report her ass and pray she isn't able to hurt another child.

9. How many questions are too many questions?

Depends how much time I have to answer them. If I'm bored 100 would be doable. if i'm busy 10 can be tough.

10. Do you have a handwritten journal you write in everyday?

No, I never could keep up with them when I tried. I'm just too busy.

11. Have you already made plans for 2010?

Yeah they involve someone getting smacked by reality while I enjoy the show with popcorn and beer. It's going to be a fantastic show I tell ya.

12. Thursday Thunks has a huge party for all those who play along each week. Where is the party, how long does it last and does Kimber fall off the roof dropping crayons? If so, what color of crayon does she fall on?

A party? Hmm I missed that! I'm not sure why Kimber is dropping crayons off the roof but I bet if she falls, she lands on green.

13. We may have "blogger celebrity" questions in the near future. Are you excited?

Oh yes.......I'm not sure I can handle all the excitement I feel right now. I might just have to sit down and not clean house all day as I ponder how wonderful this could be.

With any good thing, there can always be a down side. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year that I look forward to every year. I love the music, the Christmas shows, the spirit, the meaning, you name it. I love, love, LOVE Christmas. I HATE, hate hate, worrying about money to spend for it though. I have a big family and I do my best to get something for everyone in my family or make them something nice. I've mentioned before that I prefer to give and to get the handmade gifts because I love the idea that someone would actually take the time to use their talents, whatever they may be, with me in mind.

When I make things for my nieces, nephews, sisters, Mom or Dad, boyfriend etc, I take into account their favorite colors, things they like, things they need and go from there. So whatever I make them it's designed distinctly for that person. What I tend to forget in the planning is that despite the fact that I'm handcrafting the gift, I still have to pay for the materials. So what can start out as a seemingly inexpensive gift idea, can turn into something much more costly than I'd planned.

Soooo, I try to to start early in the year to get the items made and spread the cost out over a longer period of time rather than waiting til the end of the year and freaking myself out trying to accomplish AND pay for everything. The few times I did that I ended up so frazzled I could barely enjoy the holiday and had to look for emergency loan lenders to be able to get the rest of the materials I needed. Thank goodness the emergency loan was available but had I planned better I could have avoided the need to have use of one.

As it turned out, the emergency loan really saved Christmas for me and made it easier to get things done. I planned well this year and won't have to worry a bit, but Christmas is going to be here very soon. It's nice to know that if I needed it, I could get another emergency loan to make sure I have what I need to see those beautiful smiles on my family's faces.

This weeks Topic: 10 Ways to Waste Time on the Internet

1. Pogo ( I swear it's the most addictive site ever created)
2. Myspace (I love it, but why??? It really does nothing for me and Facebook is almost worse)
3. Google Earth ( sure it's cool but do you know how old some of those images are?)
4. Yahoo Chatrooms ( Seriously, have you ever been in one? There's not a single fat chick with moles or bald beer bellied guy in the place, just ask em. They'll be happy to provide you with a picture of someone else to prove it.
5. Youtube (I've never learned a thing but it's entertaining sometimes)
6. The penguin bowling game ( there's so much that's not right with this game but it's fun anyway!)
7. Myspace applications ( Be a mobster or a rockstar.whatever....people love these but what do they get out of it? NOTHING, BIG waste, lots of fun..sorta)
8. Reading the Craigslist "missed connections" boards. Seriously, what are the chances you'll see a hottie at the supermarket, you post about them on Craigslist and they actually see it and NOT think you're a moron? I'm just sayin.....It is highly entertaining reading though. Great way to kill some time)
9. Online Quizzes ( you can now find out what kind of dog you are, the cereal that fits you best and even what your poo tells about you.)
10. Looking on Ebay for items not overpriced, Good LUCK lol

The excitement is building, the pressure is on. Only 24 more days til Black Friday. All the stores are planning their sales and just waiting for the frenzy of shoppers rushing through their doors to get bargains on whatever their little hearts desire. In short, It's a madhouse. One I don't plan to participate in. Not in the stores anyway. I'll save gas and shop in my pajamas thank you very much.

I've heard that Black Friday 2009 Online Deals are going to be great this year. I'm told that merchants are realizing that without some great deals, they can forget a big shopping season. People simply don't have the money to spend. The money will go where the bargains are the best. Mine will anyway.

Unlike some people I won't mention, I work hard for my money. I don't wait for someone else to work for it and hand it to me. I want the best buys I can get for the things I want to lavish on my loved ones and that means looking for bargains. I find it MUCH easier and more rewarding to look online than rush from store to store only to find the item I want has sold out and I've wasted a trip.

Many merchants offer free shipping and you can even find coupons online to make the sales even better. There's really no downside, except maybe shipping times but that wasn't an issue at all last year so I don't expect it to be this year either. So I look at it this way:
No lugging heavy bags
No "sold Out" after driving to the store
No being trampled (remember last year?)
No crowds
No gas wasted
I don't have to get dressed
No fighting over the "last item"
No lines to wait in

Yeah, I think i'll be staying home for sure. Happy Shopping!!

While I was gone, the Monday Meme that I liked so well was ended so I had to find something new when I found out today. I came across "Manic Monday" and I think this one will prove to be fun. Join in too!

Most of the U.S. observed Daylight Savings Time yesterday. Is it easy or difficult for you to switch your body clock? Do you suffer from jet lag when traveling?

Jet lag isn't an issue for me but the time change twice a year about kills me. I don't need an alarm clock normally. I almost always wake up automatically between 5:45 and 6. It's very very seldom that the alarm wakes me up. For whatever reason when the time changes, it's just awful, especially in the Spring. Blech!

If you had to pick one place in your town to bring a tourist, where would you go?

Lol, Walmart!! I swear the one here in Redneck Hell is like no other ANYWHERE!

When you travel away from home, do you miss it?

The first day, not so much. After that I pretty much just want to go home unless I'm having fun or the people I love most are with me. other than that, I'm not really much of a wanderer. I like to stick close to the casa.

If there is anything I've learned from blogging, it's that getting your Information out there is the key to success. You can blog all day about anything you want, be it important or not and no matter how interesting it is, if no one knows you're there, you won't have readers. It's just that simple.

The same goes with business of any kind. Advertising pays. You don't have to buy commercials for thousands of dollars. You don't have to give away pencils/pens/koozies, etc either. You know all those business cards you have in a pile? How many times have you thought of something you need and remembered you'd received a business card from someone who specializes in that item/service? I do it all the time and it saves me a ton of time searching through the phone book or looking online. Sometimes what's right at your fingertips is the best solution to start with.

Postcard printing is another good way to get the word out when you have sales, new products or just want to thank loyal customers. I had the oil changed in the car about 3 months ago and it's time for it again. The shop I took the car to the last time sent me a postcard a couple days ago reminding it was time for the oil change and offered me a 20% discount as a return customer. They're a tiny bit higher normally than the other shops in the area but with the 20% off they offered, they're more than competitive in their price. PLUS, they performed a service as well by reminding me it was time to have the oil changed. So, who do you think i'll be taking the car to next week?

it's amazing how fast this year is flying by. At the flea market yesterday I saw a sign that said "9 weekends left til Christmas" to that I thought, "HOLY SHOOT!" Well, something like that anyway. Started with the same 2 letters. You get the point though. Guess who isn't at all prepared? Yeah, ME!

Work has been so crappy lately that I could just scream. We keep getting new agents on a project that can't support the ones they had already. I just don't get it. We were cut down to around 14 hours a week, things got better and we could get 23 hours and then new people were hired and we now are back to 14. Not that I have anything against the new agents or anything, I just don't understand how it is that no one can see some of us are dying for more hours. In all fairness, it's possible that the powers that be know more than I do and things are going to get better. Here's hoping anyway.

I have a new project doing tech support for a tax program, so far it's hard but I like it. It makes me think and they say that using your brain is a good way to stave off Alzheimer's in later years lol. I figure with this job, I'll never have a problem.

Anyway, time to make the donuts. Hopefully the customers will be nicer today than they have been lately.

I know, I know, It's been awhile. Not on purpose really. It's just that there is so much going on and i admit to a bit of laziness as far as getting over here to post. Why? I dunno. Just because?

Anyway, kids are great. I am wonderful, but you already knew that right? My man is the best, the fur babies are fat n'sassy and life in general is good. Oh and I'm kicking ass in all my fantasy football leagues lol. That's important!!

Well, as far as updates go, that's probably not much, but hi to my friends who still stopped by. A beautifully manicured middle finger shot to the weirdo who's obsessed with me and a hug to those who wrote to be sure i hadn't croaked lol. I didn't mean to worry you.
